A community of schools where every child matters
‘For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack’. (Kipling)
We are a relatively new trust with schools across Wolverhampton. The name Lykos is derived from the Greek word for “wolfpack”, symbolising strength, unity and collaboration, along with our roots in Wolverhampton communities.
Like a pack, we offer our schools a collaborative, partnership approach, with a focus on high quality learning experiences. We are a family of locally-led schools who share a common purpose, ethos and values whilst retaining our unique identities.
Our Purpose
The Lykos Trust is an active learning community committed to providing high quality and inclusive education for all. Through creative collaboration, learning from each other across all phases, we provide rich opportunities for personal, academic and professional growth whilst ensuring excellence for all.
Every child truly matters to us and as such every child should achieve, learn to overcome their barriers and leave us feeling confident, supported, challenged and equipped for life.
They will learn in our family of happy, safe and supportive locally-led schools who share our ethos, values and common purpose but are each unique reflecting the character of their individual communities.
Through a wide and varied range of opportunities and experiences, our children and young people will be prepared for their journey beyond school. We want all of our children and young people to be ambitious and aspirational, engaged and inspired, confident, independent and resilient so that they can play an active role in their communities.
They will be known as individuals, cared for and enjoy a sense of belonging and pride. They will develop positive relationships with others and grow in a community based on love, respect and kindness.
We feel it is essential that our learners are able develop a core range of knowledge and behaviours; to try to understand others; to develop empathy for others; to accept others; to listen to and respect the beliefs of others; to be able to challenge the views of others in a respectful and considerate manner.
